Carlo Ancelotti hails ‘humble’ Vinicius Junior in Osasuna win

Carlo Ancelotti once again singled out Vinicius Junior for praise as Real Madrid sealed a 4-2 La Liga win at Osasuna.

Los Blancos head into the international break with a firm lead in the title race as the Italian coach zones in on a potential UEFA Champions League double this season.

Vinicius’ double in Pamplona proved vital in securing three points for Ancelotti as the Brazilian international moves up to 12 goals in league action so far in 2023/24.

The forward continues to be a target for rough treatment from opposition defenders and he picked up a fifth league booking of the season for dissent.

He will serve a one game ban, and miss the home tie with Athletic Club on March 31, but Ancelotti had nothing but positive words for his No.7.

“He’s a decisive player, in everything he contributes. He could have scored more goals, but he’s effective in everything”, as per reports from Marca.

“He has a lot of pressure, which he must control a little more. I didn’t say anything special to him, just that he played an extraordinary game.

“He’s going to improve because he is a serious, humble and intelligent boy.”

A league suspension means Vinicius will not play for Real Madrid again until they host Manchester City in the Champions League quarter final first leg on April 9.

The 23-year-old has scored two goals in his last four games against the Premier League champions.
