Predicted XIs Scotland-Spain: Two starting debuts for Luis de la Fuente, Barcelona star dropped

Spain are in Glasgow to take on Scotland at 20:45 CEST, as Luis de la Fuente’s side seek to maintain their 100% record in European qualifying at Hampden Park.

New manager de la Fuente handed starts to Mikel Merino, Iago Aspas, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Nacho Fernandez on Saturday night against Norway, signalling a new era in the Spain side.

De la Fuente is expected to continue making changes for their tie against Scotland. Joselu Mato could make his first start for Spain following his brace against Norway off the bench, while David Garcia is also in line for his first Spain cap in place of Nacho.

Dani Ceballos, Mikel Oyarzabal and Fabian Ruiz are also predicted to come into the side by MD.

Meanwhile Diario AS believe Jose Gaya will start in place of a rested Alejandro Balde, who will not make the squad at all. They also have some doubts over the presence of Joselu or Alvaro Morata up front.

Scotland are without Che Adams, and Lyndon Dykes is expected to replace him up front. Scott McTominay will come into the team by all accounts, while AS have Stuart Armstrong in place of Ryan Christie in midfield. The latter is more likely to start in a 5-4-1 formation.
