Portuguese star Goncalo Guedes is arguably having his best season for Valencia under the orders of Jose Bordalas.
As pointed out by Conrado Valle of Diario AS, Guedes is putting up some serious numbers this season. He lies in LaLiga’s top five for a series of stats including: goals (10), assists (5), shots on goal (25), successful dribbles (80), fouls received (53).
Since Bordalas took over in the summer, he has given the keys of Valencia’s offence to Guedes in the knowledge that he could make the difference for a side without a bona fide goal-scorer.
Lessening his defensive duties and allowing him a free role in the centre of attack, the best of Guedes has been there for all to see despite often playing as part of a rigid attack.
According to Valle, Valencia turned away interest in Guedes from Sevilla and Villarreal this past summer. Bordalas insistence on the matter was key. However, with Valencia once again looking to balance their accounts via the transfer market, Peter Lim may see him as a saleable asset. Reportedly, Valencia will consider cashing in on Guedes in order to build a more balanced squad.
