Unai Emery has answered links to Newcastle United amid rumours he could be approached.
Emery has only been with Villarreal for just over a year, but he is already being linked with a move away.
The former Arsenal and PSG boss won Europa League again last season, bringing Villarreal their first ever major title.
Though, he hasn’t managed the same success in La Liga, guiding the Yellows to a seventh-place finish last season, while they are in the bottom half so far this term.
Nevertheless, there have been fresh reports claiming Emery is one of the potential candidates for the vacant Newcastle United job.
Emery is the favourite with many bookmakers as newly-rich Newcastle look to kickstart their Saudi era with a high-profile appointment.
But the Spaniard is not aware of any possible effort from Newcastle to appoint him amid pressure at Villarreal following a derby defeat to Valencia.
Addressing the links ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Young Boys, he said: “I don’t know anything about Newcastle.”
