Five players from Spain’s La Liga have been included in the 30-man shortlist for the 2021 Ballon d’Or award.
France Football have released their prestigious award list for this year with the Spanish top flight well represented on it.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal all have players included with former La Blaugrana star Lionel Messi also named.

Messi is currently the most successful player in the history of the award with six wins from 2009 to 2019.
Los Blancos duo Luka Modric and Karim Benzema are included alongside Atletico hotshot Luis Suarez and Barcelona teenage star Pedri.
Pedri’s rise into an established first team star in Catalonia in the last 12 months has been one of the biggest stories in Spanish football and he is included on the senior and sub 21 list.

Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno was rewarded for an outstanding campaign with the Yellow Submarine, including a Europa League title, with a shock inclusion.
