Real Madrid, Barcelona moves unlikely for Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante reportedly wants to leave the club next summer but Real Madrid and Barcelona are unlikely destinations.

Zinedine Zidane is said to be a big fan of his fellow countryman but Madrid president Florentino Perez sees Casemiro and Fede Valverde as offering plenty of cover in that position.

Ousmane Dembele is said to want Kante to join Barca’s growing French contingent but again the club’s financial positions and current options make a move unlikely.

However, in a recent interview with Telefoot, Kante appeared to pour cold water on such claims that he could leave Stamford Bridge: “Of course (I could finish my career at Chelsea), today I am with Chelsea until 2023.

“So, in my head, I hope to continue to have great seasons with Chelsea.

“Today at Chelsea, I have had three wonderful years winning titles. I think that it is a club that has helped me a lot and I hope that I will be able to win a lot more titles here.”

Kante won back-to-back Premier League titles with Leicester City and Chelsea before winning the World Cup with his nation last year.

The 28-year-old is now the star player at the West London club following Eden Hazard’s move to Madrid this summer.

Juventus, who are managed by former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are said to be in a better position to sign the player.
