Quique Sanchez Flores sacked by Watford

Quique Sanchez Flores has been sacked from his role as Watford boss, the club has confirmed.

Flores returned to the club where he managed for the 2015/16 Premier League season, in September, following the sacking of Javi Gracia by the Hornets.

However, it has not gone to plan for Flores on his return to England, with Watford still bottom of the table, with just one win from 10 Premier League games under his leadership.

Flores has now been removed by the club's board, with the 2-1 defeat away at Southampton at the weekend, believed to be the final straw for the Spaniard at the club.

Flores has managed over 300 La Liga games, during spells in charge of Getafe, Valencia, Atletico Madrid and Espanyol, and he is widely anticipated to return to Spain if he leaves the Hertfordshire club.
