Luis Enrique wants an end to Robert Moreno rift

Luis Enrique has called for an end to the reported negativity between him and former Spain boss Robert Moreno.

Enrique returns to his role of La Roja head coach following their successful qualification for Euro 2020, with Moreno managing the second half of the campaign after Enrique withdrew due to family reasons.

Moreno was removed from his role hours after Spain's final qualifier, and has criticised Enrique and the RFEF for their conduct during the situation.

However, Enrique has responded with a counter criticism, claiming that Moreno has shown a lack of loyalty, and will play no part in Spain's Euro 2020 campaign.

The former Barcelona boss was in sarcastic mood after being interviewed following the draw for the competition's group stage in Bucharest this weekend.

"Apparently all the coaches are bad, but the draw is fine", Enrique told an interview with Marca.

"I am not here to play a game of tennis with Moreno."

"I gave my version, and that is the end of it."

"I do not want to repeat this, but I have said what I want, but I will keep replying if I have to it."

Enrique's comments indicated that his war of words is far from over, however added that he wanted to focus on Spain preparations for the competition in the new year.

Spain were drawn in Group E, alongside Sweden and Poland, with all three of their group stages games played at Athletic Bilbao's San Mames stadium in June 2020.

The final place in the group will be taken by either the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland, should either of them make it through their qualifying play offs.
