Euro 2020 will decide Robert Moreno’s future with Spain

Spain boss Robert Moreno will be judged by his performance at Euro 2020, according RFEF President Luis Rubiales.

La Roja sealed their qualification for next summer's competition with a 1-1 draw in Sweden back in October, and he fielded an experimental side in their 7-0 win over Malta in Cadiz last week.

However, Rubiales confirmed he will be assessed once the tournament is over, with a decision made then about his future in charge of the national team.

"When qualification is completed next week, we will reflect on the situation," he told an interview with Marca.

"We are very happy with Robert, and that has not changed."

"Once the tournament is completed we will look again at the matter."

Moreno took temporary charge of the senior team half way through the qualification campaign, after Luis Enrique stepped away due to personal reasons.

He then moved into the role on a permanent basis earlier this season, as Enrique stepped down following the tragic death of his young daughter, with a deal up to Euro 2020.

His current deal expires after the competition, with a reported two year extension on the table, if Spain meet expectations at the competition.

La Roja famously won back to back European titles in 2008 and 2012, under Luis Aragones and later Vicente Del Bosque.
