Spain eye Athletic Bilbao training base for Euro 2020

Spain are considering using Athletic Bilbao's training ground for their Euro 2020 base next summer.

Robert Moreno's side had already secured qualification prior to their 7-0 qualifier win over Malta in Cadiz last night, and thoughts have now apparently turned to planning for next summer.

Athletic's home stadium San Mames is one of the host venues for the competition, and according to reports in Marca the Spanish FA (RFEF) have contacted the Basque club about the possibility of using their facilities at Lemaza.

The squad's primary base will be at their Las Rozas headquarters in Madrid, however with at least two of their group games being played in Bilbao, the RFEF are seeking a closer training camp.

No official announcement has been made from either side yet, but Athletic are reported to be happy with the arrangement, despite construction work planned at Lemaza in June 2020.
