Real Madrid star Gareth Bale trains with Wales squad

Gareth Bale has trained with Wales this morning ahead of the Euro 2020 qualification double header, despite missing Real Madrid's last six games through injury.

Manager Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Bale accepted a call up from Ryan Giggs, despite concerns over the Welshman's fitness in recent weeks.

However, ahead of the 4-0 weekend win over Eibar in La Liga action, Zidane confirmed he is back in training, but was excluded from the match day squad for the trip north.

The situation has taken on additional controversy in a potential club v country row between Wales and Real Madrid, as Bale suffered the injury in Wales' draw against Croatia – and he has not played since.

Zidane stated that he would not prevent Bale from joining up with the Wales squad, but reports in Marca, hint that he may not return to the Real Madrid starting XI for some time.

Wales take on Azerbaijan in Baku on November 16. before hosting Hungary in Cardiff three days later, as they look to seal a place in next summer's tournament.
