Rodrygo Goes helping Real Madrid to their Cristiano Ronaldo level – Rivaldo

Former Brazil star Rivaldo believes his countryman Rodrygo Goes is helping Real Madrid back to the level when they had Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rodrygo netted the treble for Los Blancos in Wednesday’s 6-0 win and has netted two La Liga goals – against Osasuna and Leganes – in just two league starts for the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo netted a club record 450 goals for Madrid in just 438 matches for Madrid before leaving for Juventus in a €100m transfer in the summer of 2018.

“Rodrygo Goes is helping Madrid get closer to the level they had at the time of Cristiano,” Rivaldo told Betfair, as cited by Cadena Cope.

Rivaldo also spoke of his former club Barcelona: “If (Ernesto) Valverde does not win the Champions League, it is normal for Barça to change Coach and (Ronald) Koeman would be an excellent option.”

Valverde is under pressure at the Blaugrana following a series of underwhelming results including a 3-1 loss at Levante on Saturday and scoreless draw against Slavia Prague in the Champions League.

The Catalan giants have also fallen to defeats at Athletic Club and Granada this campaign, but remain top of the league and also their Champions League group.
