Valencia CF midfielder Dani Parejo confirms support for Albert Celades

Valencia CF captain Dani Parejo has offered his full support to new manager Albert Celades.

Reports in Spanish media outlets had been rife with allegations that the Valencia CF squad were angry with the dismissal of former boss Marcelino earlier this month, and that senior players were unhappy with Celades taking over the reins.

Celades' tenure kicked off with a 5-2 defeat away at FC Barcelona in La Liga, but they pulled off a gutsy 1-0 win at Chelsea in the Champions League and Parejo stated after the game that Celades has the squad's backing.

"Football is always changing and I have been through situations like this before.

"Marcelino did a great job, but we have a new manager now and our aim is still to win as many games as we can.

"We are with him all the way.

"It has not been easy, and that is why the squad remained quiet on the subject, but know we just want to go out and play."

Valencia CF has won just once in La Liga action this season, and face home games against Leganes and Getafe in the next seven days.
