Real Madrid eye Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina

Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina is among the shortlist at Real Madrid as a back-up signing for Thibaut Courtois, report Diario AS.

The interest has been stemmed from Keylor Navas telling Madrid that he wants to leave the club due to being number two to Courtois in the Spanish capital.

Andriy Lunin and Luca Zidane have also been sent out on loan by Madrid, meaning that the club would need to sign an alternative.

The 36-year-oldgoalkeeper only started two Serie A matches last campaign and is an understudy to club and Italy number one Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Reina began his career at Barcelona before moving to Villarreal, but his most memorable stint was across a nine-year spell at Liverpool between 2005 and 2014.

He has since played for Bayern Munich and Napoli before his move to the Milanese giants last summer.

Madrid are also said to be targeting other experienced shot-stoppers such as Willy Caballero (currently at Chelsea), Diego Benaglio (Monaco) and Maarten Stekelenburg (Everton).
