Asier Illarramendi believes his new teammate Martin Odegaard will enjoy a successful season and add quality to Real Sociedad.
The Norwegian international joined the Basque club on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid – where he was once a teammate of midfielder Illarramendi.
“I first met him four years ago, and if I’m not mistaken he was a 16-year-old at that time,” Illarramendi told reporters.
“I thought I was young but obviously he was a good bit moreso, and you could tell that not only was he a very talented player but he also had good manners and the right mentality to succeed.
“Now four years have passed and he has competed in the Eredivisie, he has evolved as a player, and even though we have not played many games his quality as a player is obvious, and without the ball he works very hard too.
“He has already shown a lot of commitment and a lot of hard work, so I believe this will be a successful year for him.”
