Zinedine Zidane remains confident of Real Madrid success in 2019-20 season

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is confident his side will have a successful season in 2019-20, despite a poor pre-season.

Los Blancos lost 7-3 to rivals Altetico Madrid overnight, and lost 3-1 to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in their first pre-season game of the season, however the former French international is determined to see the positives for his side.

"We will be motivated for the new season, I have no doubt about that.

"I am convinced that we are going to have a good season."

Zidane refused to place too much importance on the result against Diego Simeone's side, but called on his side to increase their intensity levels ahead of the new campaign.

"Of course it hurts to lose, and especially to your rivals.

"However, it was a bad game for us, and we cannot look backwards now.

"We were lacking in all areas, particualrly in intensity, and they were better at everything."

Zidane has brought in over €300m worth of new players over the summer, including Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Rodrygo, Eder Militao and Ferland Mendy, as he looks to challenge FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
