Marco Asensio injury changes Real Madrid transfer plans

Real Madrid may be forced into a drastic change of transfer plans due to the fears over a long-term injury to Marco Asensio.

There are concerns that the Spain international will miss the entire season with knee ligament damage suffered in a pre-season friendly, and this could disrupt Madrid’s exit plans.

As outlined by Marca, there are a number of attacking players who could potentially leave Los Blancos before the start of the campaign but the situation now change.

The report even claims that the futures of Gareth Bale (pictured) and James Rodriguez – who both have appeared certain to be exiting the Santiago Bernabeu this summer – could be impacted by the turn of events.

It also claims that whilst Madrid may have been open for an exit for playmaker Isco, this door appears to now have been closed.

Brahim Diaz, who joined from Manchester City in January and may have been loaned out, may also now be afforded greater opportunities.

It also states that Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Takefusa Kubo may also be given more first-team minutes.
