Zinedine Zidane confirms no update on Gareth Bale’s future

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Gareth Bale's future remains unresolved.

The Welsh international has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital following Zidane's return as manager in March, however they have been no significant movement since the end of the 2018-19 season.

"There is no problem with Bale, and I am not going to say there is a problem with him, the Frenchman stated the media at the pre-season training camp.

"Anything could happen.

"He has a contract, so we will wait and see.

"But the situation with Bale has not changed since June."

Bale renewed his contract at the club in 2016, until 2022, during Zidane's first spell in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu, and he is currently the highest paid player at the club.

His large salary has reportedly deterred clubs from making a move for the former Tottenham forward, whilst Bale himself has consistently stated that he wishes to stay at the club.

Zidane also indicated that there is no update on the status of James Rodriguez, amid reports linking him with a move to rivals Atletico Madrid or Serie A side Napoli.
