Everton want Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa

Everton are interested in bringing Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa back to the Premier League for the 2019-20 season.

According to a report in UK newspaper the Daily Mail, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has instructed the club to look into the possibility of signing the Spanish international this summer.

Costa has potentially damaged his relationship with the club beyond repair after he was handed an eight-game ban for abusing an official during their 2-0 La Liga defeat to FC Barcelona, which ended their 2018-19 La Liga title challenge.

Diego Simeone has not officially that the club are looking to move the controversial striker out of the club, but following the signings of Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix, he is likely to find his first team opportunities even more limited in 2019-20.

The Toffees were linked with a move for Costa back in 2017, when was still with Chelsea, however he opted to return to Atletico Madrid, where he had played between 2010 and 2014.

With a year left to run on his deal in the Spanish capital, the 30-year old is likely to cost €30m if Everton are to make a move for him.
