FC Barcelona forced to wait on Cillessen-Neto swap deal

FC Barcelona could be forced to wait to complete their proposed move for Valencia goal keeper Neto.

Current second choice keeper at the Camp Nou, Jasper Cillessen, is set to leave the club after growing frustrated at playing second fiddle to Marc Ter Stegen, at the club.

Brazilian international Neto is open to a move to the La Liga champions, with Cillessen heading in the opposite direction, to replace him at the Mestalla.

However, Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo are reporting that the player swap has encountered issues, with Ernesto Valverde's side convinced they can get a better deal for the Dutch international elsewhere.

Portuguese pair Benfica and Sporting Lisbon have both been linked with a move for Cillessen, but no official bid has been received.

If they receive an offer in excess of €30m, the agreed price for both players, and Cillessen is agreeable, Valverde's side will push ahead with that and use the money to buy Neto – with additional money to invest elsewhere in the squad.
