Everton ‘confident’ of securing Andre Gomes transfer from FC Barcelona

Premier League side Everton are on the verge of sealing a permanent deal for FC Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.

The Portuguese international spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Goodison Park, making 29 appearances for Marco Silva's side, and they are keen to secure a permanent move for the former Valencia CF player.

Catalan newspaper Diario Sport are reporting that Ernesto Valverde is willing to let Gomes leave the Camp Nou – with Gomes and Silva both willing to push the deal over line – with The Toffees looking to seal a €30m switch.

Gomes is currently away on holiday, and even if a fee is agreed between the two clubs, he is not expected to confirm a return to the club until the end of June 2019.

Despite interest from former club Valencia, as well as La Liga rivals Villarreal and Sevilla CF, Gomes appears to have decided on a move to the UK's north west, with a €120,000 per week contract on offer.
