Ateltico Madrid could move for want away Sassuolo right back Pol Liraol, if they fail in a bid for FC Barcelona full back Nelson Semedo.
Diego Simeone is in the market for a new right back, and cover at left back, with Juanfran and Lucas Hernandez already leaving the club, and Filipe Luis set to follow in the coming weeks.
Los Rojiblancos have also been linked with Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj, as well as Portuguese international Semedo, however both players would cost over €25m and are both important in their current squads.
Failure to land either player before the start of the 2019-20 campaign, could lead Simeone to move for Spanish U21 international Liraol, according to reports in Mundo Deportivo this weekend.
Liraol signed for Sassuolo at the start of 2018-19, after a two-year loan spell from parent club Juventus, and could be available for €15m, and he has already indicated he is ready to move on.
"Sassuolo means a lot to me and I have almost 100 games in Serie A and the Europa League.
"But now is the time to move on.
"I will concentrate on the Euros for now, and then make a decision."
