West Ham keen on Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals

Premier League side West Ham are interested in Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals, according to reports in Marca.

The Hammers have also been linked with Eibar's Joan Jordan and FC Barcelona's Andre Gomes – who spent the 2018-19 season on loan at domestic rivals Everton – but they have no turned their attentions to the Spanish international.

According to the report, Manuel Pellegrini's side are willing to pay around €27m, to bring him to the London Stadium.

Fornals is contracted with the Yellow Submarine until 2022, and they are unlikely to accept any fee for the former Malaga player that is less than his full release clause.

Currently the two parties are some way apart in their valuations, with Villarreal holding out for the full €33m release clause, and West Ham looking to keep the deal below the €30m mark.

Villarreal increased Fornals' wage in January, and raised the clause from €25m, in order to deter potential suitors, so they are unlikely to budge on their fee.
