Coach Antonio Pintus to leave Real Madrid, join Inter

Real Madrid conditioning coach Antonio Pintus is set to leave the club and join Antonio Conte at Inter, according to reports.

Pintus has been the physical coach of Madrid for the last three seasons but he has reportedly been distant from boss Zinedine Zidane and a departure now appears likely.

Pintus was Juve’s conditioning coach for a large proportion of Conte’s playing career with the Bianconeri and now appears set for a reunion at the Milanese giants, report Marca, via Corriere dello Sport.

The fitness coach lost prominence at Madrid during Julen Lopetegui’s tenure at the club but returned under Santiago Solari with the team then lauded for their improved physicality.

Pintus has also worked at Chelsea, Marseille and Palermo while his contract at Los Blancos was due to expire next summer, but that departure looks set to now be brought forward.

The relationship between Zidane and Pintus is said by the report to have deteriorated after the Italian trainer stayed at Madrid when the French Coach decided to leave.

Madrid must now seek a replacement ahead of the new campaign.
