Atletico Madrid consider return of Radamel Falcao

Atletico Madrid and Valencia are both interested in signing Monaco striker Radamel Falcao this summer, according to reports.

Diario AS cite a report in L’Equipe that both clubs are paying attention to the Colombian forward, who will play his final game for Monaco against Nice this weekend.

The 33-year-old netted 16 goals across 38 matches for the Ligue 1 club this season but now appears set for an exit after three seasons in France.

Falcao spent two seasons at Atletico between 2011 and 2013 in which he was extraordinarily prolific, netting a remarkable 70 goals and helping his side to the Europa League and Copa del Rey titles.

L'Equipe outlined the good relationship between Jorge Mendes, the player's agent, and Valencia owner Peter Lim, and how that could be key in any move to the Mestalla.

It is reported that the striker also has offers from China but that a return to Spain would be more appealing to him as it would also allow him to return to playing Champions League football.
