FC Barcelona have been hit with a €20,000 fine by UEFA following issues of security at the Camp Nou during their Champions League game with Tottenham.
The Catalan side hosted Mauricio Pochettino's side back in December 2018, in the competition's group stages, and Europe's governing body confirmed they wold be investigating complaints about their security organisation before and after the game.
Spurs fans complained that security staff were excessively heavy handed with them when being escorted into the away end of the stadium, as well as keeping fans inside the stadium for extra time at the end of the game.
UEFA stated the fine referred to 'errors in controlling the match' and a failure 'to respect the rules of the game' and warned FC Barcelona to be mindful of their conduct in the 2019-20 Champions League competition.
The fine comes alongside a number of other penalties handed out by UEFA for club indiscretions, including Ajax's being fined €52,500 after their fans threw missiles onto the pitch during their April 10th game against Juventus, while Pochettino has been handed a one-match suspended ban for 'delaying' the start of their semi final against the Dutch side on April 30.
However the ban has been suspended for a year, meaning the Argentinian coach will be on the bench for their Champions League final against Liverpool on June 1st.
