Atletico Madrid could be put off a move for Benfica's Ruben Dias, due to his high release clause with the Portuguese side.
According to a report in Diario AS this morning, the La Liga club are monitoring Dias, as part of their wider plans to replace the departing Diego Godin this summer.
Diego Simeone has confirmed that the club are looking at number of defensive options, but any signing would have to fit within their current financial budget for the 2019-20 campaign.
However his current side are holding out for his release clause of €60m to be met, before they are willing to negotiate a deal for the Portuguese international.
Simeone is likely to face competition for the 21-year old, with Juventus reported to be keen, and he may have to pay the full clause if he wants to bring him to the Spanish capital.
Dias, who graduated through the Benfica youth ranks, has made 44 appearances in all competitions this season as Benfica look to wrestle the Primeira Liga title back from Porto.
