Spanish Supercopa revamp set for 2020

The new-look Spanish Supercopa, which will increase from two teams to four, will commence in January 2020, according to Cadena Cope.

The report claims the full details will be made available by the Spanish FA on 29 April, with all matches set to be played away from Spain.

Last season’s one-off match between Barcelona and Sevilla was played in the Moroccan city of Tangier, but the game is usually played over two legs in Spain.

The top two sides in La Liga are set to feature in La Liga alongside the two Copa del Rey finalists, while an overlap in qualification is set to see places downgraded to Copa semi-finalists.
