Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata unclear on future

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has refused to talk about his future ahead of the Champions League clash against Barcelona.

The playmaker initially moved to English football in 2011, joining Chelsea from Valencia, before a £37m transfer to Manchester United in January 2014.

“I don't think right now is a good moment to speak about it (my future),” Mata is cited as saying by the Manchester Evening News.

“I prefer to put the team before myself, and what we are going to face now is important enough to be focused only on that.”

The 30-year-old’s deal at Old Trafford expires in the summer and he is available to speak to other clubs.

Mata has netted 44 goals across 259 first-team appearances for the Red Devils and has 10 goals from 41 international caps with Spain.

His compatriot Ander Herrera is also out of contract at United this summer and is reported to have a pre-contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.
