Spain forward Marco Asensio has praised his side’s ‘patience’ in their European Championships qualification victories over Norway and Malta.
The Real Madrid player was on the pitch for every minute for both victories and claimed the regular football is helping his own confidence and self-belief.
“We played two good games and we showed patience in both games,” Asensio told TVE, as cited by Marca.
“We knew these opponents would always be well organised in a defensive sense so we had to keep moving the ball quickly and opening spaces.
“Personally, I always have confidence in my own ability and what I am capable of doing, but when you are playing with these players it is much easier and also getting regular minutes.
“It is not easy when the Coach is missing and we are dedicating this victory to us, I want to send him a hug on behalf of the entire squad.”
