N’Golo Kante on Real Madrid links: “I’m focused on Chelsea”

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante insists he is ‘focused’ on his current club despite links with a summer switch to Real Madrid.

Calciomercato last week reported that Los Blancos are a trio of European giants monitoring the energetic midfielder, along with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old could be set to move on from Stamford Bridge this summer with the club’s hopes of returning to Champions League football currently hanging in the balance.

“Today I'm still at Chelsea and what is said elsewhere is not important,” Kante told reporters, as cited by Spanish media.

“Even if (Zinedine) Zidane calls me, it's not important, I'm at Chelsea today and I'm focused on that.”

Kante joined the Blues in 2016 from Leicester City and has helped them to both the Premier League title and an FA Cup success but has been moved out of position by boss Maurizio Sarri this season to accommodate Jorginho.

The uncertainty surrounding Chelsea’s transfer ban in the summer window may impact any potential deal, but Madrid’s reported overhaul this summer could target the France international.
