Gareth Bale passed fit for Wales

Gareth Bale has been passed fit to start Wales' opening Euro 2020 qualifying game, at home to Slovakia.

Ryan Giggs side kick off their road the tournament, looking to banish the ghosts of failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, and the Real Madrid man is in line to make his 75th cap.

He sat out the friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, but the 29 year-old confirmed he is read to play.

"I've only had one injury (this season), I've been fine.

"I have been playing well and scoring a decent amount of goals.

"We want to qualify for major tournaments and experience what we have been through before and we need to produce again.

"I am raring to go."

Ahead of the Slovakia clash, Bale collected the FAW Players' Player of the Year Award in Cardiff, with Bournemouth's David Brooks collecting the FAW Player of the Year Award.
