Arsenal, Tottenham eye Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals

Arsenal and Tottenham are both monitoring a summer move for Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals, according to reports.

Corriere dello Sport last month reported that the player has an agreement to join Napoli while Marca had also reported the two clubs had been locked in negotiations.

However, the Daily Express claim both North London clubs are interested in the Spaniard – Arsenal are seeking a replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey while Spurs have sold Moussa Dembele with the future of Vincent Wanyama under scrutiny.

Back in November, Cadena Ser stated the 23-year-old rejected offers from Fulham and West Ham because he does not want to ‘abandon his team in the situation in which it is currently’.

Villarreal currently one place above the relegation zone in La Liga with just five wins from their 27 league matches to date this season.

Arsenal have also previously been linked with a move for the former Malaga midfielder, who joined Villarreal in 2017.

Fornals has featured in all 27 of Villarreal’s La Liga matches to date, starting 22 of those.
