Atletico Madrid central defender Diego Godin has credited his side’s ‘complete performance’ in their 2-0 victory over Juventus on Wednesday night.
The experienced Uruguayan netted the second goal at the Wanda Metropolitano in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 against the Bianconeri.
“We’re very happy, it was a great game,” Godin told UEFA.com.
“It was a complete performance, effective both in defence and attack, as we all had the right attitude. We created so many clear-cut chances, including two when we were one-on-one with the goalkeeper, had a goal disallowed via VAR, another hit the bar.
“We scored the two goals for an important victory that can allow us to go into the very tough second 90 minutes with a 2-0 advantage.”
