Barcelona target Carlos Vela ‘calm’ on future

Los Angeles FC striker Carlos Vela insists he is ‘calm’ about his future after press speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona.

The Mexico international has netted 15 goals in 32 appearances for Los Angeles since moving to MLS from Real Sociedad a year ago, but has been linked with a return to Spanish football.

Now aged 29, Vela netted a total of 66 La Liga goals for the Basque club across seven seasons having initially joined the club from Arsenal in 2011.

“My future is an issue for the clubs and the agents,” Vela told ESPN, as cited by Marca.

“Right now I am relaxed, I am working hard and I’m happy to be in the position I am, in the future we will see what happens – I am calm.

“I’m in Los Angeles and I have heard about the links to Barcelona, but whatever happens for me I will be happy with, I have nothing to lose.”
