Atletico Madrid’s sporting director Andrea Berta (pictured left) is wanted by Manchester United as part of a structural alteration, say reports.
Cadena Ser’s Carrusel Deportivo programme reports that the 47-year-old Italian is wanted by the English giants, but also has a contract renewal offer on the table from Atleti.
Berta has been the sporting director at Los Rojiblancos since 2017 having been promoted from the position of technical director, which he had since 2012.
Formerly of Parma and Genoa, Berta has also been linked to an Old Trafford move by ESPN FC, who claim he is on the club’s shortlist for the newly-created position.
The Italian has been credited with a portion of the success of Diego Simeone’s side across the past six years, including the 2014 La Liga title and two Champions League finals.
