Sevilla’s Guilherme Arana set for Corinthians return

Sevilla full-back Guilherme Arana is likely to leave the club this month with Brazilian club Corinthians reportedly lodging a €6m offer.

The 21-year-old joined the Andalusian club from Corinthians in January 2018 but has been involved in just 11 La Liga games over the course of a year, failing to dislodge first-choice Sergio Escudero.

“Possibilities are always there, we listen to everything, but Arana is an asset for us,” Sevilla Director of Football Joaquin Caparros told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“Sevilla bet on him, but there are days left (of the transfer window) and we will see what is best for the team and for the player.”

Brazilian club Santos, who are currently coached by former Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli, are also said to be in the running for his signature.

ABC de Sevilla confirms the reports and believes it could open a return to the club for Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno or youth product Javi Vazquez.
