Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla are all interested in a deal to sign Cologne defender Jorge Mere, according to Diario AS.
The central defender joined the German club in an €8m deal from Sporting Gijon in 2017 and has impressed in the time since, despite the club being relegated from the Bundesliga last season.
However, the 21-year-old has a current release clause of €10m that will triple this summer to €30m should Cologne return to the German top flight.
Sevilla were said to lead the race for the left-sided defender before Atleti and Valencia ‘sneaked’ into the race.
Mere has been a long-serving star of the Spain Under-21 side.
