Atletico Madrid trio ‘free to negotiate’ with other clubs

Atletico Madrid’s defensive trio of Juanfran, Filipe Luis and Diego Godin are now ‘free to negotiate with other clubs’, reports in Spain have confirmed.

The three experienced defenders are all out of contract at the Wanda Metropolitano in June and Diario AS say the three may look for moves elsewhere.

Godin and Luis – who previously left Atleti in 2014 to join Chelsea, before returning a year later – are said to be the subject of interest from English clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain approached Brazilian full-back Luis this summer and are thought to still hold an interest, while Juventus and Manchester United have long been linked with Uruguayan central defender Godin.

Godin (32), Filipe (33) and Juanfran (33) have each appeared in over 300 games for Los Rojiblancos but the report claims that, like midfielder Gabi Fernandez last summer, they may seek pastures new to end their careers.
