Luka Modric rejects Real Madrid offer – reports

Luka Modric has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Real Madrid and is said to be considering an approach from Inter.

Diario AS cite a report in local TV station Telemadrid claiming the Ballon d’Or winner has turned down Madrid’s initial offer amid ongoing rumours of his interest in a move to the Milanese giants.

Modric added the Ballon d’Or trophy to his awarding of FIFA’s The Best award this calendar year as he helped Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League title and his nation Croatia to their first ever World Cup final.

His compatriots Sime Vrsaljko, Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic all play at the Nerazzurri and this is said to be a key factor in Modric’s intentions of joining the club.

The midfielder’s current deal at the Bernabeu runs through until 2020 but he is said to be holding out for an improved offer, one which would match or exceed that offered by Inter.
