Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas set for a month out

Celta Vigo will be without forward Iago Aspas for a month after suffering a ‘fibrillar rupture’ in his right leg in Saturday’s defeat against Barcelona.

A report in Marca states the Spain international will undergo further tests this week to evaluate the extent of the injury, with initial fears that he will miss four weeks of action.

The 31-year-old’s injury coincides with Spanish football’s winter break but he also looks set to miss the January La Liga games against Athletic Club, Rayo Vallecano and Valencia.

Aspas has already hit 11 goals in 19 appearances for the Galician outfit this season.
