Roma join race for Sevilla striker Luis Muriel

Roma have joined Milan in the race to sign out-of-favour Sevilla striker Luis Muriel this January, according to reports.

The Colombian striker joined Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2017 in a €21.6m deal from Sampdoria but has fallen behind Wissam Ben Yedder and Andre Silva in the attacking preferences for Coach Pablo Machin.

Muriel has started just one La Liga game this season – and making a grand total of just six league appearances – scoring just one goal.

Il Messaggero say the Rome giants are looking to bolster their forward options following an injury to striker Edin Dzeko.

Earlier this week, Marca reported on the player’s agent Alessandro Lucci has informed Sevilla of the interest from the Milanese giants, who failed in their attempt to re-sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Lucci also represents Milan duo Suso and Bertolacci, while relations between the clubs are amicable following the recent loan move of Andre Silva to the Andalusian club.
