Marcos Llorente ‘to decide Real Madrid future at Christmas’

Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente will talk to the club at Christmas before deciding upon his future, he has confirmed.

The 23-year-old had played just 11 minutes in La Liga this season for Los Blancos but after impressing in a rare start away to Roma, he has now started four successive games for the club.

Llorente stepped in for the absent Casemiro and his performances appears to have halted his agreed loan move to Basque side Alaves in January.

“I would not have expected to be playing four games in a row,” Llorente told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“I was convinced I would need to leave in order to find more minutes but I was afforded an opportunity against Roma and I took advantage of it.

“Everybody wants to play and everybody needs to fight for their spot in the first-team but hopefully I have demonstrated to the Coach that he can trust me.

“I will talk to the club at Christmas regarding my future.”
