RFEF President Luis Rubiales assures Luis Enrique ‘has our maximum support’, despite the Spain boss failing to achieve Nations League qualification.
“It’s true that we’d have loved to go through, but at least we’re staying in the highest tier,” he said after Sunday’s 1-0 win against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
“I also think there’s a team under construction with many young players. We’ll go step by step and put our faith in this group of players, who are sensational.
“There’s the obvious inclusion of a new generation. The Coach has all our confidence to bring through these young players..
“For everything he does, he has our maximum support. We’re delighted with him. There was also a goal from a debutant [Brais], so we must congratulate him.
“It’s a game we were able to enjoy in the Canary Islands. It’s a shame about the weather, but we’re happy and soon we’ll start preparing for our upcoming matches.”
