Spain squad: Jordi Alba in, Paco Alcacer out

Spain have recalled Jordi Alba for upcoming games against Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina but dropped Paco Alcacer.

Alba had been absent from Luis Enrique’s first two Spain squads, amidst speculation that the left-back remained out of favour from the end of the Coach’s spell at Barcelona.

However, the 28-year-old returns after a strong start to the season with the Blaugrana, replacing Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso.

Elsewhere, Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente and Espanyol’s Mario Hermoso are included for the first time.

Inigo Martinez is also back after the controversy of his call-up to the Basque national team, despite being ruled out with injury for La Roja.

Lucho’s midfield has been hit by injuries to Koke and Thiago Alcantara, so Celta Vigo starlet Brais Mendez and Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals come in as ‘novedades’.

Finally, Paco Alcacer makes way for the fit-again Isco up top, despite his scoring exploits for Borussia Dortmund, while there is still no Diego Costa.

Spain face Croatia in the Nations League on November 15, before facing Bosnia three days later.

Spain squad to face Croatia and Bosnia: Pau, De Gea, Kepa; Otto, Azpilicueta, Diego Llorente, Ramos, Hermoso, Inigo, Gaya, Alba; Sergi Roberto, Ceballos, Brais, Rodri, Busquets, Fornals, Saul; Suso, Rodrigo, Aspas, Morata, Asensio, Isco
