Spain boss Luis Enrique insists he sees Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba ‘in a very good light’ ahead of Thursday’s squad announcement.
Luis Enrique dropped Alba towards the end of his spell as Barca Coach and has yet to call up the 29-year-old since taking charge of Spain over the summer.
“Pique’s advice on Alba? Pique knows a lot about football and I accept his advice,” he said midway through Atletico Madrid’s 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.
“However, I’ve got to where I have because of my way of understanding football. I see Jordi Alba in a very good light, like I always have. It’s never changed.”
La Roja face Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the upcoming international break, which commences after this weekend.
