Arturo Vidal has hailed Coach Ernesto Valverde’s substitutions as ‘changing the game’ as Barcelona defeated Rayo Vallecano late on.
The Barca boss made a trio of changes early in the second half, including bringing on goalscorer Ousmane Dembele and the Chilean midfielder.
“The changes from the Coach changed the game, we wanted three points and we got them,” Vidal told reporters.
“It was a tough game, we needed to show plenty of spirit and resilience, to play with our hearts and show our character.
“This is an important three points for us and allows us to leave here feeling happy and on a positive note.
“We lost our rhythm but the changes turned the game around, and I am happy to be able to give the Coach an option.”
