Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno refused to be drawn on the future of Coach Julen Lopetegui following Sunday’s 5-1 defeat at Barcelona.
Los Blancos have now lost four of their last six games following the heavy El Clasico loss with multiple reports suggesting the former Spain boss will lose his job this week.
“Today is not the right moment to discuss his future,” Butragueno told reporters, as cited by Marca, in the aftermath of the game.
“This has been a very bad game for us, we are not happy and we are sorry for our fans because of the defeat, everyone who is part of the club loses when the team loses.
“We thought we had chances to draw the game but the third goal killed (it), and we were not able to cope with their counter attacking.
“You have to credit Barcelona for the manner in which they played.”
