Julen Lopetegui will remain at the helm of Real Madrid for Sunday’s trip to Barcelona, director Emilio Butragueno has confirmed.
Speaking after Tuesday’s narrow victory over Viktoria Plzen, Madrid director Emilio Butragueno insisted the club were ‘calm’ on the future of the former Spain boss.
“Yes, Lopetegui will be the Coach for the match in Barcelona,” Butragueno told Movistar, as cited by Diario AS.
“We continue to have full faith in the players and the Coach, we know that it is important to remain calm in these situations (bad form) and we know things in football change.
“Sunday’s game gives everyone a lot of motivation and we are excited for the game, nothing will change.
“The rumours? They are normal in football, we are confident of a good performance on Sunday.”
