Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran will be available for the Spain national team ‘until he retires’ and he still is hopeful of a call-up.
The 33-year-old has won 22 caps for La Roja but has not been in the squad since the 2016 European Championships having not been selected by Julen Lopetegui nor Luis Enrique.
“I will be available for selection for the national team until I retire,” Juanfran told Onda Cero, as cited by Diario AS.
“I have always been very proud to represent my nation and I always look out to see if I have earned a call up, I would have been happy if Luis Enrique had called me.
“I have enjoyed so many happy memories with the team, winning a European Championship, going to a World Cup, these are moments you will never forget.”
